Last Day

It is known that in time we all pass,

but we don't know when,

there is no warning of which day is last.

Although we don't usually know when we are near,

the best advice of mine is to not live in fear.

Many people make bucket lists to complete before they die,

but I make a new one everyday, and complete it in that days time.

Tomorrow is never promised,

so I live like this is it.

Living life to the fullest,

with no time to quit.

I express my feelings,

and I'll splurge on a purse;

I live in optimism,

and don't have time to think of the worst.

I smile at strangers,

and tell my family that I love them.

I eat extraordinary amounts of pizza, because I don't know when my lights will go dim.

I enter poetry contests,

and go to every school dance,

because I never know when it will be my last chance.

I give money to the homeless,

and share funny jokes on Twitter,

I continue to try to spread happiness before my life is over.

My life is not perfect, and neither am I.

But life is precious,

and I will cherish it with every moment that goes by.

Live today as if it were your last.

xoxo,

Mia
